A group of energetic and dynamic youth are demanding a stop to the shedding of blood in 2017.

The Ana Taban youth advocacy group is holding a series of outreach events including open mics and media appearances calling on the country’s leaders to stop the fighting.

The campaign has been taken to social media dubbed #Bloodshedfree2017.

“We are campaigning for an honest and genuine ceasefire, we want to see all stakeholders involved, especially youth,” said Ayak Chjol Deng.

Manasseh Mathing, a member of the Ana Taban group, says ordinary South Sudanese should ‘take ownership’ and realize that they have a role to play in demanding for peace.

They also demand more pressure from the regional and international community to put pressure on the parties involved for a total silencing of the guns in 2017.

Ayak and Manasseh sat down with Sebit William for this amazing discussion on how to stop the bloodshed in 2017.
