Japan steps up support for UNMISS Mandate

The Japanese contingent serving under the UN mission in South Sudan – UNMISS will continue to revitalize the road networks to help ease the delivery of humanitarian assistance in South Sudan.

This is part of the Japanese support for the implementation of the UNMISS mandate which among others include; protection of civilians, monitoring and reporting human rights, supporting implementation of the Peace agreement and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people in need.

Yuri SUZUKI, is the Policy Adviser Japanese Contingent, says the success of the Japanese contigent is entirely dependent on the cooperation from the local communities.
