On the eve of Zero Discrimination Day, 1 March, Activists in South Sudan are calling for protection of vulnerable populations against discrimination. The call comes as UN AIDS stresses that discrimination is a violation of human rights and a major barrier to an effective AIDS response.

Lole Laila lole, the director South Sudan Network of people living with AIDS, said many people living with HIV continue to face unfair treatment and unjustified criminalization. He warned that discrimination is dangerous and must be brought to an end.
