The Education Minister insists the government is committed to making life even better for gay and lesbian people in the UK.

It's despite concerns from LGBT campaigners in the West Midlands that attitudes manifesting themselves after we leave the EU may give rise to more homophobic attacks.

Figures from police in the region say they've gone up by 5% in the last two years, with 1,200 reports in 2015 and 2016.
