The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General, who is also UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Eugene Owusu, has asked the donor community to step up its funding of relief efforts in south Sudan and support efforts to scale up humanitarian support in South Sudan.

Speaking shortly after a food distribution exercise kicked off in Padeah county of unity, the Humanitarian chief told reporters that more financial resources are needed to provide assistance to the more than five million people in need.
