Emily VanCamp Gives Every Detail of Josh Bowman’s Proposal

Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman announced just last week that they will be tying the knot in real life, after falling in love on the set of the TV series Revenge. Having already walked down the aisle on prime-time TV, the duo have a practice run under their belts, as fans of the show know. (Thankfully, though, it seems like the similarities in the couple’s on- and offscreen relationships end there. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t exactly the long-lasting partnership we wish for VanCamp and Bowman.) For the typically private couple, VanCamp is giving us juicy details about the adorable proposal, however.

In a red-carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, VanCamp shared that the magic moment went down in an equally magic way. “It was in a forest," she said. "We were in nature on a hike, kind of doing what we do. It was very, sort of, us. So yeah, it was great, beautiful.” She reported that no plans have yet been set in motion as far as the wedding is concerned, as she’s “just enjoying this moment. It’s sort of—it’s really nice, you know?” And very anti-Revenge. She further admitted that "I never was the girl who knew what she wanted to do for a wedding." Might we suggest she start with inspiration from her onscreen vows?

VanCamp announced her engagement in the sweetest way, posting an Instagram snap with a heart emoji in the caption. The image was a photo of the blond actress covering her eyes, revealing the gorgeous diamond on her left ring finger. The understated announcement is characteristic of VanCamp and Bowman, who tend to lie low when it comes to their real-life relationship. VanCamp confessed to Elle Canada a few months ago, “Josh and I keep it all very separate. I barely talk about him in interviews, to be honest.”
