UN encouraging peacekeepers to Preserve Environment in Host countries

The Department of Peace Keeping operations is combining forces to reduce carbon foot prints and and preserve the environment of the host country.

One of the interventions the Department of Peacekeeping operations has put in place is the Waste Segregation and composting initiative targeting troop contributing countries and force police units of the UN mission in South Sudan.

To bring us to speed about this initiative and the idea behind it is Dewi Hanoum, Field environmental officer. She spoke with David Lukan and began by explaining the history of World Environment day.
