#SouthSudan must adopt ‘smart agricultural practices’ to mitigate climate change effects

Often considered a Western phenomenon, climate change is at our doorsteps and already having a negative impact on our lifestyle and practices.

Prolonged rainy seasons and extremely hot dry seasons are only some of the effects being felt.

The Deputy Minister of finance says the country must adapt its agricultural to changes brought on by climate change to build food secure and resilient communities.

Mou Ambrose Thiik says adopting smart agricultural practices such as effective irrigation and effective farming methods, maximizes production in a country where 95% of the population relies on agriculture.
