Do your jokes fall flat? Do your attempts at humor make people mad or hurt their feelings? Humor teacher Jim Pelley recommends the A. T. T. Rule of Comedy: Humor must be Appropriate, Timely, and Tasteful. So when in doubt, ask yourself, “Am I laughing with people or at them?” Your humor goal should always be to improve, build up, and support, never to put down, tear down, or embarrass.
