New song highlights plight of South Sudanese Refugees in camps

Two young South Sudanese have released a new song, to draw attention to the plight of refugees sheltered in camps across the region.

The Song titled “Ana Fi Camp” aims to shift focus from refugees usually portrayed in numbers and figures to refocus on the daily struggles of each individual citizen who has fled the conflict in the country.

Yaak John, going by his stage name Tony Gway 4 and Chan Akol also known as Ugly Facil, have released their maiden track Ana Fi camp, translated as “I am in the camp” which follows the story of refugees struggling to make life worth a living in the camps.

The two spoke with Irene Lasu about their inspiration and hopes for the future.
