Indian sailors stranded in Aberdeen allowed to sell ship to recoup unpaid wages

A crew of Indian sailors stranded on a ship Aberdeen have been allowed to sell the vessel to recoup their unpaid wages.

The workers haven't paid in a year and the Malaviya Seven has been detained in the city harbour since October.

They are owed over £600,000 collectively.

Chief Officer Bamadev Swain spoke to Original 106 aboard the ship:
