“When I feel low, I walk in the woods.” Sting

What do you do when you’re unhappy, gloomy, or down? Do you have a special place you go, someone you like to talk to, or a journal that you write in? Any of these things can help make you feel better. When you’re sad, do you cry? Or do you hold back your tears because you think crying is weird, babyish, stupid, or silly? Crying releases tension and pent-up emotions, and it can help you work through sadness, grief, or even anger. Not crying is like swallowing your pain and locking it inside you. Why not set it free?

TODAY I’ll cheer myself up if I need it . . . or cry if I want to.
