"He was a good man" - Ruth Dudley Edwards says IRA killer Sean O'Callaghan "deserves to be remembered in charity and forgiveness".

Last week - former IRA leader - turned Gardai informer, Sean O'Callaghan, died. The County Kerry native revealed the inner workings of the IRA in his book, The Informer, in 1999. He was jailed in the '90s after walking into a police station in England and admitting two IRA murders. Writing in the Belfast Telegraph - Ruth Dudley Edwards says he was genuinely remorseful for what he did - while a member of the IRA.
