tutor doctor launched in Nigeria to promote quality education through home tutorials

The Consular General ,US Mission in Nigeria, Mr. John Bray has advised international organisations introducing educational programs in the country to ensure that they are accessible to the greater population of the youths including those in rural communities and from poor homes.

He gave the advice in Lagos during the inauguration of Tutor Doctor Band, a UK based network of home teachers.

In a remark, Mr. Bray stated that blessed with rich human and natural resources, all that Nigeria needed for sustainable progress , especially checking youth unemployment ,was quality education and that organisations providing such should make it accessible through expansion to rural areas, affordable cost and l scholarship to the poor.

Responding the program representative in Europe, Middle East and Africa , Mr. Tim Maurice, said they were willing to collaborate with governments , individuals and Organisations to provide quality education to more Nigerians as it is being done in some of the 17 countries including USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland, where the program is running.

In a presentation, the country Manager of Tutor Doctor Nigeria, Mr. Ignatius Inyang stated that the best the form of after school lesson is that carried out in the child's home with the tutor, parent and class teacher involved.

Mr. Inyang who advised parents to seek home teachers only from recognised institutions to avoid hiring morally bankrupt people, warned that adult members of the children's families must be present to monitor the tutorial.
