First Ever Poetry Slam Excites Juba

South Sudan Youth activism group, the Anataban has launched a new initiative, designed to encourage Peace through the spoken word.

The Poetry Slam is bringing the country’s emerging writers to express messages about the desire for peace in the country.

The first ever poetry slam kicked off on Sunday.

Deng Forb, founder of the Slam poetry told Miraya Breakfast show that the heats on Sunday revealed a surprising writing culture from a diverse group of young South Sudanese.
