World Cup roundup, the future of Bayern Munich and was Pirlo one of the greats?

They start off this week's pod by saying so long to the master midfielder that is Andrea Pirlo. The Italian the World Cup, the Champions League, Serie A and tons of other trophies but will he be remembered as one of the greatest midfielders of all time? The pod have their say on that before moving on to to talking about all things international.

There is Egypt, there is Salah's nerves of steel, there is the demise of the Netherlands, there is an update on what is happening with Syria, there is Martin O'Neill's unusual contract situation and lots, lots more beside that.

Elsewhere, There has been some incredible action in the World Cup qualifiers in South America. Brazil are already in so there are still plenty of places up for grabs and it – shock, horror – Argentina and Leo Messi may be one of the teams that misses out. It's a complicated situation but luckily Dan is at hand to explain it all.

Finally, since we lat recorded, Bayern Munich have sacked Carlo Ancelotti and replaced him with Jupp Heynckes. Where did it all go wrong? What is the right thing to do? Will Heynckes be out of touch? And what is the future of Bayern? Nick has the answers.
