Kotobi payam ‘off limits’ as ICRC distributes seeds and farm tools in Equatorias

The International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) has distributed seeds and farming tools to communities in the Equatoria region weeks after it resumed operations following the killing of one of its staff members.

Robin Waudo, the ICRC’s Communication and Law Coordinator says more than five thousand households in Yambio and Magwi have benefited from the distribution.

The organization is also continuing prison visits and medical evacuations in the Equatoria region but has not resumed activities in Kotobi payam, Amadi state where its marked convoy came under attack.

Lukudu Laki Kennedy Emmanuel a truck driver with the international aid organization was shot dead when armed men attacked the convoy in Amadi state as it returned from an assistance mission in Mundri on 08 September 2017.

The ICRC suspended operations in the region for one month following the incident.
