Here are five ways to lessen stress during the holidays and all year long:

  1. Think back to other times when you’ve coped with a tough time, situation, or event. Recycle strategies that worked.
  2. Find someone to talk to—someone who will listen and, if you want, offer honest, respectful advice.
  3. If you don’t know how to relax, learn how.
  4. Laugh. Laughter is a proven stress reducer.
  5. Simplify. Make a list of things you must do, then cross out at least five.
