Government, FAO launch fall armworm awareness project

The Government of South Sudan in collaboration with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization – FAO has launched fall armyworm project to raise awareness about the destructive insect in the country.

The launch comes a week after the government of Japan donated 3 million dollars through the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO and World Food Program WFP, to fight the infestation in South Sudan.

Pierre Vautheir, is FAO deputy country representative in South Sudan. He spoke with Philip Wani explaining why the battle against the fall army worm is critical at this time.
