House of Bishops urge disarmament of civillians in Jonglei state

The house of Bishops of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan Jonglei internal province, have asked the central and states government to disarm the civillians and rid communities of illicit arms.

The call by the Arch Bishop of the internal province, Ruben Akurdid, comes amid concerns that a significant Increase of small arms in the hands of civilians is contributing to a spiral of destabilizing incidents in Jonglei region.

Arch Bishop Reuben Arkudid, spoke with Miraya correspondent in Bor, Mach Samuel in Bor, outlining the concerns of the church.
