SPLA top commanders train in International Humanitarian Law

The International Committee of the Red Cross has given a training course in international humanitarian law to 30 top SPLA army Commanders in Kapoeta.
International Humanitarian Law, also known as the law of armed conflict aims to protect people who are not or no longer participating in hostilities.
It also protects civilian property and restricts the methods and means of warfare that parties to a conflict can use.
Clara Deniz Bue Lhoff, the International Committee of the Red Cross Field delegate for Equatoria spoke with James Okello explaining that the training course, aimed to broaden the soldiers knowledge about the key concepts of Humanitarian law in times of conflict.
