Minister McCausland says the cost of cheap alcohol to NI in terms of damage to health is astronomical

Social Development minister Nelson McCausland has announced plans for some cheap drink deals to be banned in Northern Ireland. It comes after 20-yr-old Joby Murphy drowned after a night out in the Odyssey last month.

The Belfast barman fell into the Lagan after drinking £1 vodka shots all night at the beach nightclub.
