Episcopal Church in Kajo-Keji mobilizes for returning populations

Episode 92,   Jan 19, 2018, 06:14 AM

As populations continue to leave refugee camps and displacement areas to return to their homes in Yei, the church diocese of Kajo-Keji has embarked on a mobilization drive to raise assistance for the returnees.

The diocese has so far collected 200 bags of grain, and is seeking more contributions to help the communities settle back home.

Emmanuel Murye Modi, the Bishop of Kajo-Keji Diocese says many houses were burnt by wildfire and there are worries about how the populations, most of whom are returning from camps in neighboring Uganda, will survive.

Bishop Modi says the people are coming back more hopeful for peace since the signing of the cessation of hostilities agreement, but need immediate assistance.

He spoke to Lwak Nelson in this interview.
