The Bishop of Maridi, Justin Badi Arama, has been elected as the new Primate and Archbishop of the Church of South Sudan in a very-tight election.

In an interview with Radio Miraya, Bishop Justin said he plans to use his God ordained position to preach peace.

Bishop Justin garnered 80 votes, beating Bishop Abraham Yel Nhial from Aweil who secured 79 votes.

Only two candidates were nominated for the seat.
