One of the West Midlands' greatest-ever athletes, Denise Lewis, visited a #Birmingham school today to put youngsters through some exercise - and draw attention to the Commonwealth Games. This year's event is in Australia in April, and the next edition in Birmingham in 2022. Dorrington Academy in Perry Barr is just around the corner from the Alexander Stadium, which will be a central venue for the 2022 Games.

Denise Lewis is now the President of #Commonwealth #Games England, which today announced a new partnership with the energy firm npower to support Team England. She told BBC WM's Mike Taylor why the Commonwealths are known as the "Friendly Games", and what opportunities they might bring for Birmingham in four years' time.
