UN Mission in South Sudan Welcomes Renewal Of Mandate

The UN Security Council has renewed the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan for one year.

The Security council commended the actions taken by UNMISS peacekeepers and Troop- and Police-Contributing Countries in implementing the UNMISS mandate in a challenging environment.

Back in Juba, the Mission leadership has welcomed the renewal of the UNMISS Mandate. Musataf Soumare, is the Deputy Secretary representative of the secretary General.
