The U.N. Population Fund global ambassador, Ms Ashley Judd, has stressed the need for increased involvement of men in solving the problem of gender-based violence.
Speaking at the end of his three days tour of South Sudan, Ashley Judd said men need to come up and tell other men that gender-based violence is wrong, it isn’t our tradition, and this is a violation of human rights and their dignity.
She spoke in an exclusive interview with Sheila Poni, stressing the need to ensure that girls at risk of early marriages are granted access to vocational skills, like midwifery.
She begins by explaining her impression of the trip to South Sudan.
