Khartoum peace talks extended to next Tuesday

Peace talks in Khartoum have been extended once again to give Sudanese mediators time to engage in shuttle diplomacy between South Sudan and Uganda. 

 The consultations will focus on comments received from the parties on a revised version of what is known as the “Entebbe draft proposal” crafted by Uganda president Yoweri Museveni. 

 The talks which were expected to conclude yesterday have been extended till Tuesday 17th , as the parties await another proposal to be drafted by the Sudanese mediators. 

Peter Mayen, leader of the People’s Liberal party also member of the South Sudan opposition alliance says they will be remaining in Khartoum until they receive the new draft.
