Evidence-Based Implementation | Dr. Joe Eisenmann

Episode 4,   Sep 17, 2018, 04:00 PM

“From a research standpoint… we kind of know what to do, but the key thing now is not only coach education and the translating of that research into practice, but also helping sport leaders and coaches implement it into their clubs, schools, and communities.”

Dr. Joe Eisenmann has published 160 peer-reviewed papers and has held faculty positions from the University of Wyoming to York University. However, Dr. Eisenmann has since left academia to pursue what he deems imperative to the development of youth sports: making research on long term athletic development and sports science accessible and understandable to those outside of academia. In this talk, he discusses the importance of fundamental movement skills, negotiating with “play to win” coaches, and helping coaches with evidence-based implementation.
