South Sudan capital City Juba will this Thursday play host to a major conference focusing on ways to stop child marriages.

The conference organized by Crown the woman advocacy group coincides with the international day of the girl child celebrated each year on October 11th. The day highlights the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

Aluel Naome and Sarah Nadia of the Crown the Woman civil society group say the conference is the climax of the “Too young to be married” campaign that has been running for the past few months.
