Peace Celebration: Speech by David Shearer, Head of UNMISS

The Head of the UN mission in South Sudan, David Shearer, said much hard work is needed ahead to realise and fully implement the agreement.

Danvid Shearer reiterated the need for collective efforts to build Trust which he described as the key ingredient needed in every step of implementing the agreement. 

“The key ingredient needed at every step is trust. The personalities who signed the Agreement have in the past been former friends and foes . So, the big challenge ahead is to build trust and confidence between the parties – and between the parties and the people.”
