The Deputy spokesperson of the SPLA-IO confirms that their troops will begin moving to cantonment sites in accordance with a directive issued by SPLM-IO leader Riek Machar.

Dr. Machar ordered all I-O forces to assemble in cantonment areas as soon as possible, as part of the revitalized peace deal.  The opposition leader gave the directive while speaking to supporters who gathered at a rally in Khartoum on Friday.

Under the deal, the parties are required to assemble their forces in cantonment sites to enable registration of personnel, weapons, screening, reorganization and demobilisation.

All forces in cantonment sites shall receive non-military logistical supplies including food, shelter and access to medical care.

SPLA-IO Deputy spokesperson Lam Paul Gabriel says troops will begin moving to the designated sites.

He spoke to George Livio Bahara in this interview and started off by talking about a planned confidence and trust building mission to Terekeka.
