"More than 60% of refugees in Uganda and Ethiopia unaware of peace agreement," study suggests
A new study suggests that South Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia and Uganda are frustrated with the country’s leadership and are not aware about the political developments in the country.
A recent report by the Addis-Ababa based Institute for Security Studies (ISS) indicates that more than 60 percent of refugees in Gambella, and Adjumani were not aware that an agreement was signed in September.
Omar S Mahmood a senior researcher with the ISS and author of the report says there is a ‘general frustration’ among the refugee community, adding that there is a strong need for awareness raising across refugee settlements in the region.
Mahmood outlines more highlights from the report in this interview with Philip Wani.
