The Spotlight with United Nations Volunteer Christopher Kayongo, Recovery, Stabilization and Reintegration Officer from Uganda

Christopher Kayongo has served as a United Nations Volunteer working as a Recovery, Stabilization and Reintegration Officer in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. 

A development expert and peace building professional, Kayongo a Ugandan national, has over the years cultivated a vast experience in conflict and post-conflict environments.

His areas of practice focus much on civil society organization development, capacity building in participation and governance especially with Local Governments, peace building focusing on delivery of services to people by their leaders, and extension of state authority.

Christopher has worked in Uganda, Nepal, S. Sudan, Sudan, and particularly for UNMISS in South Sudan since 2012 in Warrap, Jonglei/Pibor, and currently in Juba Protection of Civilian sites. 

Christopher holds a master’s degree – Sustainable Peace in the Contemporary World – University for Peace, Costa Rica; BA Sciences and Praxis of Human Development
