Dance Company Director, Choreographer & Consultant - Kerry Nicholls

For episode 30 we are joined by Dance Company Director, Choreographer and Consultant, Kerry Nicholls.

You are in for a treat - Kerry is incredible. Not only does she run Kerry Nicholls Dance (KND), she has taken the many challenges that life has presented and fashioned them into skills and tools to propel her forward. She coaches, mentors, teaches, consultants, directs and choreographs performances across the globe.

Kerry discusses what it is to set your own version of success, not being sidetracked by others projections of accomplishment. Charting her own course, she set up KND to flip the conventional approach to dance studios. Where most traditional dance studios focus on choreography and touring with a secondary element of education, Kerry placed education and professional development and the growth of others as the heart of KND in addition to choreography. 

She shares her passion for supporting dancers beyond the industry 'norms' broadening the expectations of dance in relation to body shape, gender and age. Pushing for change.

Kerry is so inspiring and radiantly positive with her sense of self and her drive (I would say calling) to support and grow others creativity. She really reminded me, that sometimes the unexpected (or unwanted) can be a gift in disguise, it is down to how you perceive and manage it.
