This was after the Ministry of Health announced it's first case of COVID-19, a UN staff member who entered the country on 28th February. The case has since been isolated and is responding well to treatment.

"Everyone who has come into the country in the past 3 weeks have been subject to quarantine," the SRSG said.

The Special Representative emphasized that the United Nations will continue to support the people of South Sudan, stressing that everyone needs to take the 'necessary precautions.'
