International Crisis Group describes state of Covid19 in South Sudan as alarming

The International Crisis Group: ‘The situation in South Sudan is alarming, following the announcement that 35 citizens were confirmed positive on Coronavirus.’
The Organisation’s senior analyst on South Sudan Alan Boswell urges the government to enforce strict preventive measures across the country as there is a lack of medical equipment to boost testing and improper criteria of contact tracing of infected people.
Mr. Boswell has also called on the parties to the revitalized peace agreement to urgently resolve the disagreements over the formation of the state governments, speed up the dialogue at the state levels and fill the political vacuum in order to ease service delivery in the face of the global pandemic.
