The Amnesty International is calling on the United Nations Security Council to renew arms embargo on South Sudan. Amnesty International says the embargo has helped to reduce violence and human rights abuses in the country. Amnesty’s weapons investigator Brian Castner says, now that the government of national unity has begun implementing the revitalized peace agreement, South Sudan needs the arms embargo as a tool for further peace and security. explains in an exclusive interview with Miraya’s Philip Wani.
