IGAD Special Envoy: Technically Parties can meet prescribed deadlines

The group of Former Detainees have submitted their list of appointees for the Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly, ahead of a July 26th deadline set by regional Heads of State. 
 
IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan, Ambassador Ismail Wais revealed in an exclusive interview with Radio Miraya that the names have been handed over to the National Constitutional Amendment Committee, the body charged with overseeing legal tasks in preparation for the transition period. 
 
Regional Heads of State in a video-conference on Tuesday issued a deadline of July 26th for the President to dissolve the transitional legislature and reconstitute a new assembly within seven days. 
 
According to the peace agreement, the TNLA shall be expanded from 400 to 550 members: 332 from the SPLM, 128 from SPLA-IO, 50 from Other Political Parties and ten from the Former Detainees.
