DISCUSSION: Flooding catastrophe in Jonglei cuts off thousands

Thousands of residents in Jonglei State #SouthSudan are in a dire humanitarian situation after heavy flooding submerged much of the state. 

Cases of malaria and pneumonia are also on the rise and with areas cut off, it is feared health facilities will run out of medicine.

The situation was made worse by a broken dyke that let loose a deluge of water in Bor county. 

The National Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs warns that the country is expected to experience more flooding in the coming weeks and the entire country is currently affected by flooding,
