Schools across South Sudan are expected to open on Monday, 3rd of May. This is one year after schools were closed as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Together with Girls Education South Sudan, the Ministry of General Education and Instruction, carried out a country-wide Pregnancy Mapping in October 2020 which established that over 4,000 school girls have fallen pregnant.

This large number can partly be attributed to COVID-19 school closures.
