UN condemns attack on humanitarian staff in Renk

UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan has condemned an attack on the staff of two international non-governmental organizations in Renk, Upper Nile State. 

The victims were reportedly physically assaulted in their office premises by a group of youth on Monday. 

Alaine Noudehou says violence against aid workers is not a solution to the grievances of the youth, adding that such incidents are likely to affect humanitarian activities in the area:

Similar incidents of violence against humanitarian workers have been reported in Torit, Eastern Equatoria, and Ruweng Administrative Area in recent weeks.
