Authorities in Tambura county continue to be worried about the living condition of IDPs forced out of their homes due to recent fighting. Thousands of people, mostly women and children are camped at a school and church compound without enough food, basic necessities and medicines. In an interview with Miraya's Lwak Nelson, the commissioner of Tombura county, Mathew Edward Mapenge says many of the IDPs have contracted malaria, diarrhea and risk catching COVID-19 due to the congested and unsuitable living conditions.
