SPLM says dream of country’s liberators diverted by personal ambitions as South Sudan remembers the country’s martyrs.

As South Sudan marks the 16th anniversary of the Martyr’s Day today, the SPLM party says the dream the country’s liberators fought for has not been fully achieved because of multiple factors. SPLM spokesperson Deng Mading acknowledges that the vision to achieve a free, peaceful and developed South Sudan has been distracted by personal ambitions, internal party struggles and external factors. Mading says the responsibility to get the country back on track lies in the hands of the people of South Sudan.
