- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 5 tablespoons of butter
- 2/3 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup finely chopped shallot (2) or onion
- 2 tablespoons whipping cream or skim milk
