Curtis Stigers’ New Album This Life Showcases the Evolution of His Music Catalogue

This Life is a celebration of three decades of Award-winning singer-songwriter, saxophonist, and guitarist, Curtis Stigers’ latest album, a professional music journey. The album shows the evolution of his repertoire, looking back at 13 albums, thousands of concert performances, and millions of miles on the road.
Since he first stepped onto the recording scene in 1991, with his eponymous debut album that sold 1.5 million copies, Stigers has gone on to tour the world, opening for the likes of Elton John, Prince, Eric Clapton, James Brown, Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, and Bonnie Raitt.
He also found himself mixing music with entertainment throughout his career. His 1992 version of Nick Lowe’s "(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace Love And Understanding” was on the soundtrack of The Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston, and in 2008, he co-wrote and recorded the theme song "This Life" for Sons Of Anarchy. It was nominated for an Emmy. Both songs, along with his international hits, “I Wonder Why,” “You’re All That Matters To Me,” and “Never Saw A Miracle,” will be featured on the new record in different styles and fresh arrangements.
“I wanted to show how much my songs and the arrangement of my songs have evolved like I have,” the seasoned musician told us when we sat down with him virtually to hear all about the album, released in February.
We took a look back and his long and impressive career, which includes playing for presidents and princes as well as appearing in two Ted movies by his friend Seth MacFarlane. The talented Boise-born artist even serenaded us with his guitar.
