Brown Gal Can't Swim

Oct 26, 2022, 05:00 AM

This week, BBC Radio Leicester presenter Summaya Mughal talks to Christian about her Brown Gal Can't Swim podcast for BBC Sounds.

As part of the Commonwealth games legacy, money has been given to Swim England to help people from diverse communities in the West Midlands learn to swim.

Figures also show that 98 per cent of British South Asian women can't swim. Summaya is one of them and in the podcast she's set herself the challenge of learning to swim, with some big name teachers along the way.

There's also great advice on how to make a story that's very personal to you and the challenges it can bring.

Every week The Radio Academy shines a light on a recent project going on in the world of radio, podcasts or audio. If you've got an idea of a project we should be covering, email podcast@radioacademy.org
