A 32-year-old mother was taken into custody after she allegedly tried to drown her "possesed" children in a creek.

Candice McElwee faces nine charges total, according to documents filed in Dauphin County Court. These include two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and five counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were reportedly "attempting to locate a woman who was attempting to drown her children in a creek" at 9:16 a.m. on September 6.

At 3:30 in the afternoon, troopers located her with the four kids.

According to court documents cited by WHTM-TV, McElwee and her kids were spotted strolling along a highway at around 3 a.m. on the day in question. McElwee allegedly told an eyewitness that she was attempting to baptize her children when she ran out of gas. Having taken McElwee and her kids to the gas station, the witness returned them to their vehicle.

State Troopers found out McElwee and her four children hadn't been heard from in two days and had allegedly reason to suspect she was on meth and having health problems.

McElwee's kids range in age from 3 down to 10 and up to 12. The younger children were staying with McElwee, while the older children (ages 10 and 12) were reportedly found at a relative's house.

The witness claims she made these statements: "There's a problem that I'm having. I have a possessed child that I need to deal with, and I also need to "eliminate" one of my kids."

The child McElwee felt compelled to "eliminate" would be "resurrected and all will be good again," according to reports.

McElwee allegedly tried to "baptize" the kids by submerging their heads and threatening, "I'll drown my own daughter."

McElwee also allegedly attempted to bury her children in a shallow grave using dirt and rocks. There were rumors that she warned of an impending flood and called the children's father the "son of the devil."

McElwee has a $750,000 bond and is currently being held in the Dauphin County Jail.Share YOUR Crazy Family Story With Us Now!!
