From Introvert to Leader: A Conversation with Evan Schmidt, CEO of Valley Vision

In this episode, I talk with Evan Schmidt, the CEO of Valley Vision, a non-profit and civic leadership organization. Evan shares how her interest in community issues from a young age propelled her into becoming a leader and the difficulties she faced in making the shift from a young age to becoming a leader. She explains her particular style of leadership, which is characterized by being an introvert, pushing herself to do the work she cares about, and being sensitive, empathetic, and analytical. We also explore the work Valley Vision is doing to create a regional vision for economic growth and development, and the impact of air pollution on the region. Finally, we discuss the increasing presence of electric cars in Sacramento and the potential solutions for traffic mitigation. Through this conversation, it is clear that Valley Vision is taking a leadership role in the area, with their public opinion poll taking the pulse of what is happening in the region.
