Wisconsin College Student's Remains Discovered Along Lake Michigan After Date; Suspect Draws Comparisons to Dahmer

The Milwaukee community is reeling after the horrific death of 19-year-old college student Sade Robinson, whose dismembered remains have been discovered along the shores of Lake Michigan. Maxwell Anderson, 33, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson in connection with Robinson's death.

Robinson, who was studying criminal justice at Milwaukee Area Technical College and had aspirations of joining the U.S. Air Force, went missing shortly after a dinner date with Anderson on April 2. A passerby found a severed leg in Warnimont Park along Lake Michigan in Cudahy, Wisconsin, initiating a grim search that led to the discovery of further remains on April 5, 6, and 7. While formal identification is pending, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office expressed confidence that the remains are Robinson's.

The case has drawn chilling comparisons to infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, particularly from Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scrabrough, who labeled Anderson as a "2024 Jeffrey Dahmer" on "Crime Stories with Nancy Grace." However, retired Milwaukee police Lt. Steve Spingola, who investigated Dahmer, noted that unlike Dahmer, Anderson left substantial forensic evidence and was quickly apprehended due to modern investigative technologies.

"There’s a treasure trove of forensic evidence that’s left at his house. And on video cameras, and with witnesses, it’s a little bit different than with Dahmer," Spingola told NewsNation. "Remember back in 1991, we didn’t have any of that."

Anderson was arrested on April 4, and is currently held on $5 million bail in Milwaukee County Jail. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Denita Ball, has indicated that they do not believe there are additional victims, but the investigation remains ongoing. Anderson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.

This tragedy has not only shocked and saddened the community but also highlighted the potential dangers of dating and meeting new people. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with information about the case to contact them through the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

As the legal proceedings advance, the community and Robinson’s family await justice for a young woman whose life was tragically cut short under brutal circumstances.
